Who Has Won MasterChef Canada? All Eight Champions, the Runners-Up and the $100,000 Prize
Eight people have lifted the MasterChef Canada trophy since CTV launched the show in 2014. One of them now sits on the judging panel and hands out the white aprons.
The list hides a few quirks: two cooks lost two finales each, one champion won after an earlier knockout, and the show skipped three years before its 2025 revival.

We tallied the map. Ontario has produced four of the eight champions, Alberta two, and B.C. and Nova Scotia one each. Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan are still waiting for their first.
What did the first six champions have in common?
Not much, which is sort of the point. Eric Chong was a chemical engineer when he won in 2014; Bell Media says a green tea and red bean banana split sealed it. David Jorge, a concrete contractor, followed in 2015.
Mary Berg was an insurance broker in 2016. She became the first woman to take the title, finishing on a blueberry financier.
Edmonton plumber and gas fitter Trevor Connie won in 2017. A year later, 19-year-old tile setter assistant Beccy Stables beat Andy Hay of Dartmouth and became the youngest champion in the show's history. Jennifer Crawford, a senior policy analyst, closed out the original run in 2019.
All six were crowned by the same panel: Claudio Aprile, Michael Bonacini and Alvin Leung, who judged the first seven seasons.
How did a fifth-place cook win Back to Win?
Season 7, in 2021, was an all-returnee season called MasterChef Canada: Back to Win. Twelve former contestants came back, and Christopher Siu, a Markham bakery owner who'd finished fifth in Season 2, won it.
The two cooks he beat are the unluckiest names in the record. Andy Hay had lost the Season 5 final and Thea VanHerwaarden Season 4's, so between them they've now played four finales without a win.
Bell Media billed Siu's reward as the biggest prize the kitchen had ever handed out, but gave no dollar figure, and we haven't found an official one.
Who won the 2025 revival?
Veronica Wu. She was a 30-year-old senior data engineering manager from Toronto when she won Season 8 in December 2025, beating dentist Liz Worndl and cattle rancher Marianne Smeaton in a three-way final.
It was the first season since spring 2021, with a new bench of Mary Berg, Hugh Acheson and Craig Wong. So the Season 3 champion judged the Season 8 finale, nine years after cooking in her own.
What does the winner of MasterChef Canada get?
The title, a trophy and $100,000, per Bell Media's releases for Seasons 1 to 6 and coverage of Season 8.
Add the seven confirmed prizes and that's $700,000 paid out, before whatever Back to Win carried. Season 9 keeps the $100,000 prize.
