Is The Amazing Race Canada Coming Back? CTV Has Ordered Season 13 for 2027
The confetti at Spruce Meadows had barely settled before the next question started trending: is that it for a year, or is that it full stop? CTV answered on Tuesday, a day after the Season 12 finale, and the answer is short.
The race is coming back. What CTV has not said is when in 2027, who is running, or where they are going — so here is the full split between what is confirmed and what is still guesswork.

Is The Amazing Race Canada coming back for Season 13?
Yes. Bell Media put out the order on Sept. 16 under the headline “Lucky 13”, one day after Tina and Liz Liao crossed the final mat in Calgary. Justin Stockman, Bell Media's vice-president of global content, called the show “one of the country's most beloved franchises” in the release.

That table is the honest shape of things right now. A renewal in September with a premiere eleven months away leaves a long quiet stretch, and most of what circulates in it will be speculation.
When will Season 13 air?
Sometime in 2027, and summer is the safe bet. CTV's own release calls the show Canada's number one summer series and notes it has held that spot with adults 25-54 for twelve straight years, which is a reasonable signal it isn't about to become a winter show.
Season 12 ran from July 7 to Sept. 15 this year, a ten-week run finishing the week before the fall premieres. If Season 13 lands in the same window, casting news would surface in late winter and the premiere date around May or June. Treat that as pattern, not promise. Who is hosting, and who makes the show?
Jon Montgomery is back, extending a run that started with the first season in 2013. He won skeleton gold at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and has hosted every season since.
Behind the camera it's Insight Productions, now a Blue Ant Studios company, in association with CTV. John Brunton is executive producer, Mark Lysakowski is executive producer and showrunner, and Rachel Goldstein-Couto oversees it as Bell Media's head of development. Insight also makes MasterChef Canada, which starts its ninth season on Sept. 22.
How big was Season 12?
Big enough that the renewal was never really in doubt. CTV puts the season average at 1.1 million viewers and ranks it the number one summer series both overall and with adults 25-54. It also sat in Crave's top ten programs week after week.
The awards column is fuller still: 55 Canadian Screen Award nominations across the run, 30 of them wins. For a format that has to rebuild its route and its cast from scratch every year, that is an unusual amount of consistency.

All of it sits on Crave, and CTV is airing an encore of the finale on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. ET/PT if you'd rather watch the ending on a television than a laptop.
