Big Brother Canada Is Coming Back in 2027 on CTV and Crave: Host, Production and What We Know
Two years after Global cancelled it, Big Brother Canada has a new landlord. Bell Media announced on June 4, 2026 that it ordered a new season for Crave and CTV, and bought future seasons of the American Big Brother at the same time.
Plenty of people have since asked us when it starts. The honest answer is that nobody outside Bell knows yet, because the network hasn't set a premiere date.
When does Big Brother Canada come back?
Bottom line: in 2027, with production set to begin in spring 2027 in Montréal. Bell Media's release gives the season, the city and the host, but no month for the premiere.
A spring shoot makes a 2027 debut the obvious expectation. Anything more specific, like a month, would be our guess rather than something CTV has said.
Who is hosting the new Big Brother Canada?
Andrea Bain, co-host of CTV's daytime talk show The Social. Bell calls her "confirmed as the host for the new season."
Bell hasn't said whether anyone from the Global-era cast or crew will be involved. Casting details, the release says, come "at a later date."
Where is Big Brother Canada filmed now?
Montréal, where Bell says production begins in spring 2027.
The producer is Entourage, the Montréal company behind the French-language Big Brother Célébrités on Noovo and, notably, The Traitors Canada. Bell says Célébrités Season 6 was Noovo's top original reality series of winter 2026, with nearly 4.7 million views across Crave and Noovo.ca.
Can I watch old seasons of Big Brother Canada on Crave?
Bell's deal includes the back catalogue, and the release says all 12 seasons will "be available to stream on Crave." It doesn't give a date for when they appear.
We checked TVmaze, which still lists Big Brother Canada as "Ended" with Global as its network. Expect that page to change once a 2027 date is attached.
Is Big Brother USA moving to CTV too?
Yes, from summer 2027. Bell Media says future seasons of the U.S. show "make itself at home on CTV and Crave beginning Summer 2027."
That matters because Global has carried the American version in Canada for years. For the rest of 2026, Big Brother still sits with Global, and Channel Canada's premiere calendar shows Season 28 wrapping up this fall.

Why did Big Brother Canada get cancelled in the first place?
Corus, Global's parent company, announced the cancellation in June 2024 after 12 seasons, as Global News reported at the time. TVmaze shows the last episode airing on May 8, 2024.
The revival came from a different company entirely. Bell's Justin Stockman framed it as bringing "one of the most iconic and beloved formats around the world" to Bell Media, and distributor Banijay Rights negotiated the deal.
How many seasons will there be?
Bell ordered one new season. The release doesn't mention a multi-year commitment for Big Brother Canada, although it describes the US deal as covering "future seasons."
We'll treat any talk of Season 14 as rumour until Bell says otherwise.
How big is Big Brother outside Canada?
Very. Bell's release says the format first aired in the Netherlands in 1999 and has since produced more than 600 series in 70 markets.
It aired in 27 territories last year, according to the same release, and Banijay counts it among its top three formats. The US version has aired consistently since 2000.
For Canadian viewers, the practical point is simpler: from 2027, both the Canadian and American houses will sit with one company, Bell Media.
